Barbara Gefen Jaffe
Barbara Jaffe is a long time veteran of the financial services industry, beginning her career in 1978. She is currently Managing Director of Morgan Stanley (since 2008). Prior to that she was employed by Bache Halsey Stuart Shields, and all of the successor companies from that—Prudential-Bache, Prudential Securities and Wachovia Securities. She was a member of the firms Chairman’s Council of the firm’s top 1% of financial advisors for over 20 years.
In 2014 Barbara was recognized by the Financial Times as one of the Top 500 Advisors in America. In addition she has been recognized by Barron’s for many years as one of the top 100 Women Financial Advisors.
Currently, Mrs. Jaffe is active in many community leadership roles in Jacksonville Florida. She is a trustee of United Way of North Florida and chairs the audit committee for United Way. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Baptist Hospital of Jacksonville, and chairs the investment committee for the hospital. She is a founding member of the Jewish Community Foundation of Jacksonville, and chairs its investment committee.
Previously she has served as a vice president for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce; and for over 20 years a trustee for the City of Jacksonville Police and Fire Pension.
Mrs. Jaffe has participated in Endeavor, a high impact international economic organization, where she has participated visiting both Africa and Mexico on there behalf.
She and her husband have a passion for travel and have bicycled many countries including Vietnam; India, Cambodia, France, South America, Italy, Spain. She has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and run the NY Marathon twice.
