Edith Hall Friedheim
Born in Toronto, Canada and for many years a resident of New York City and Palm Beach, Edith Hall Friedheim has been a travel industry professional since 1988, when she began a successful career in travel journalism, contributing to such trade magazines as Business Traveler, Elite Traveler, Travel Agent, Travel Weekly, and Cruise and Vacation Agent. As the Travel Editor of Palm Beach Society Magazine from 1996 to 1998, she wrote a weekly consumer column on destination travel. In 2005 to honor her late husband, Eric Friedheim, pioneer travel journalist, owner, publisher and editor in chief of Travel Agent Magazine and member of the President of the United States’ Advisory Board on Tourism, Ms. Friedheim established the Eric Friedheim Award for Travel Journalism at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Friedheim has two daughters and four grandchildren from a previous marriage. Her family and her work as a founding member of the Eric Friedheim Tourism Institute give special meaning to her life.
