Destination Development & Crisis Management

The Destination Development and Crisis Management program is designed to provide the student with a foundation in tourism planning and development as well as crisis management by covering competencies in:

  • Tourism planning theories which provide the foundation for sustainable development of tourism destinations
  • Tourism crisis management frameworks and skills in crisis management planning, response and recovery
  • Destination resilience theories which will provide foundation for students to better develop destinations which will effectively respond and recover from shocks to the system
  • Marketing research methods and demand analysis to understand consumer decision making and behaviors impacting the destination
